Fri, 09 Jun 2017 12:51:04 +0000 It is imperative that focus group members create an account on the IMPACT 100 Owensboro website. This year, all focus group information – applications, exhibits, videos, site visit dates and other important news – will be posted on our new members-only website. Please follow these instructions to set up your online account:

  • Visit and click the “Join” button to begin the process. Please fill in all the fields. You also will be asked to create a user name and password.
  • For the payment section, you can request an invoice or pay online with a credit card (processing fees apply). If you have already paid your 2017 membership or previously asked to be invoiced on a paper form, just check “Invoice Me” again. We will make sure that we do not charge you twice!
  • After clicking complete, you will be routed to the members-only site. You also can access it at or by clicking on “Visit Member Site” in the upper right hand corner of the public site. You will be asked to enter your user name and password each time you access the members-only site.

Now you are ready to access members-only content and your focus group’s materials!

Focus Group Training – May 11 – 6-8pm Thu, 11 May 2017 00:43:04 +0000 Do you plan to serve on a focus group this year? If so, mark your calendar for our training session on May 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Settle Memorial Church’s Shepherd Center, 201 E. 4th St. in downtown Owensboro. Enter on the 4th St. corner of building. Signs will be posted. All focus groups chairs, co-chairs and interested members are invited to attend.

In September 2001, Wendy Steele from Cincinnati Ohio had the idea of forming a women’s giving circle.  Her notion, brilliant in its simplicity, was based on collective giving.  Pooled charitable contributions from women in the greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area could be combined and then invested in worthy non-profit organizations in the community.  That idea grew and eventually gave birth to Impact 100.

In Owensboro, Marianne Smith Edge learned of Impact 100 through a sorority sister and was intrigued.  While the concept of women giving circles was new, it was slowly spreading in other parts of the country.  At a Leadership Kentucky conference, Marianne and Martha Clark discussed the possibility of an Impact 100 Owensboro organization.  Together they recruited 14 additional women.  Those women, in turn, enlisted others and as word spread the idea was embraced with enthusiasm and generosity…..

IMPACT 100 Grant Writing Workshop on March 30 Fri, 24 Mar 2017 13:44:49 +0000 Interested in your nonprofit agency applying for an IMPACT 100 grant this year? Then you should attend our Grant Writing Workshop on March 30 from 9 am to noon. The session, which will be held at the Logsdon Community Center, will provide general information about preparing effective grant applications as well as specific information about the IMPACT 100 grant process. The center is located at 2400 Friendship Drive in Owensboro.

February 20, 2017 – Join us at Theatre Workshop of Owensboro, Trinity Centre, 407 W. 5th Street from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.  Hear Todd Reynolds from the Theatre and Woody Woodward from the Help Office of Owensboro tell about the transformation of their agencies after receiving one of the IMPACT 100 Owensboro grants.  Learn how you can help us choose the recipients for 2017.  Light refreshments will be served.

March 8, 2017 – Reception at the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra office at 211 East 2nd Street from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.  Come and bring a friend to learn how your contribution can make a huge impact in our area.  Leigha Taylor, Executive Director and CEO of the Boulware Mission, Inc., will discuss how their two grants have allowed them to better serve the homeless men, women and children in the Owensboro area and Roxi Witt, Executive Director or the RiverPark Center, will share the changes they were able to make with an IMPACT 100 grant.  Dan Griffith from the Owensboro Symphony will let us know how even a small residual grant has helped the Symphony achieve some of their goals.  Light refreshments will be served.

March 14, 2017 – Bring your friends and join the excitement at Great Harvest Bread Company, 4431 Springhill Drive on Hwy. 54 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. See how women connecting, giving as one, are making positive-impactful change possible.  Carrie Blackham, CEO of Wendell Foster’s Campus for Developmental Disabilities, will tell us about the Human Service Transportation Delivery program they were able to implement with their grant from IMPACT and Dr. Brandon Taylor, DMD, Executive Director of the Community Dental Clinic, will discuss how their grant is helping them open a new facility.  Light refreshments will be served.

March 20, 2017 – Bring a co-worker and have fun at lunchtime mingling with other women from the area at the Owensboro Museum of Science and History, 122 E. 2nd Street from 11:30am to 1:00pm.  Hear Kathy Olson of OMSH and Rick Searcy, Executive Director of the H.L. Neblett Community Center, discuss how their receipt of an IMPACT 100 grant has enabled them to better serve their visitors and children.  Learn how you can make this happen for another nonprofit in 2017.  Light refreshments will be served.
