Mission:  Committed to empowering the lives of children and adults through its many programs and activities.  The Center serves as Daviess Counties’ center of cultural development and enhancement while serving the highly diverse population who live within the low income and disadvantaged areas of Owensboro and Daviess County, Kentucky.

2015 Grant Recipient – $100,000

Program/Project:  “Neblett Capital Improvement Projects”

Established in 1936, the H. L. Neblett Center remains committed to empowering the lives of children, older youth, adults and senior adults in the Owensboro and Daviess County area through a variety of services and activities including childcare, after-school enrichment, educational and recreational field trips, evening recreation programs and senior adult fellowship opportunities. The Neblett Capital Improvement Project is two-fold the procurement of two transit vehicles to provide safe and efficient transportation and a new security system to assure a safe environment for the 4,000-plus community members who use the facility annually the majority of whom are living at or below the poverty level.

 

 

2010 Grant Recipient – $103,500

Program/Project:  This project will modify the existing facility to create an in-house multi-purpose resource-learning center, construct a security canopy over existing daycare, and create a job research and resource center within the facility.
