Impact 100 is in the midst of its 2022 membership drive, and the organization is continuing to seek out new members before the March 31 application deadline. The group consists of women “committed to improving their community by providing transformational grants” to nonprofit organizations in the Greater Owensboro area.

Since Impact 100 Owensboro’s inception in 2006, they have awarded over $3.6 million back into the Owensboro community. In 2021, with 287 members they awarded grants totaling $259,500 — the organization’s largest grant cycle to date.

“We would love nothing more than to award three $100,000 grants this year, which is why we invite every woman in the community to come make an impact with us and become a member. All are welcome,” said Jodi Krahwinkel, Impact 100 Owensboro President.

Through the Impact 100 model, at least 100 women each donates either $1,000 or $500, and 100% of the money is donated to a local nonprofit.

Impact 100 Owensboro will be hosting membership socials where women are encouraged to learn more about the organization. The will are scheduled as follows:
— 4:30-6 p.m. March 3 at SIP Wine Bar
— 4:30-6 p.m. March 17 at Willow & Pine
— 9-10:30 a.m. March 24 at Nikos Bakery & Café

Impact 100 also offers a grant-making initiative for young women called Impact 100 Next Generation. The program is designed to create a sense of community among young women through engagement with local nonprofits and to create a philanthropic spirit of giving back through time and money. All young women who are currently in the 8th-12th grades are encouraged to join. Scholarships are available to young women that cannot donate $100 but would like to join the program.

“NextGen is a great way for our youth to learn more about the needs of our community and meet new people,” said Sarah Howard, Impact 100 NextGen Chair. “These young women will see firsthand how their contribution can bring a project to life and make a substantial impact on their community.”
