PROJECT:  “Transportation for Community Involvement Project”

Founded in 1947, the Wendell Foster’s Campus for Developmental Disabilities provides services to over 1,300 children and adults with disabilities ranging from autism to traumatic brain injury, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and related disorders. The Transportation for Community Involvement Project stems from the new federal regulations requiring many residents at the Wendell Foster’s Campus to move from their current homes into scattered   housing throughout the community. With the purchase of one cargo van, two used busses and a contractual agreement with GRITS, WFC plans to become a new Human Service Transportation Delivery provider – not only for the     residents at the WFC, but ultimately for other individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living throughout the community.
